Other Steam on Display
Author: Bob3985

In 1990 we posed with Don and the boys on the Frisco 1522 and N&W 1218 for Trains magazine.
I took this photo before Bobby and the 1218 crew arrived.
Eventually they made it over the river, turned and posed with us.
The SSW 819 was running way alate in arriving and so they didnt make the photo.

Thanks for these. That was a fun time with the steamers.

Well, I must respectively disagree, as it was hotter than hell, with EXTREMELY HIGH humidity, which is typical for Saint Louis for that time of year!

On the plus side, it wasn't in New Orleans that time of year.

Look how far we have come, 1218 and 1522 are on display, the SSW is a pile of parts. I'd take the heat and humidity anyday to have them all back.
