Has there been activity regarding the first steam-up of WP 0-6-0 165 at Portola?
The last I saw was it it was to run on Sunday May 6th 2022.        --Jim Baker

There was a short video posted on facebook of 165 pushing a couple cars recently (and possibly a snowplow?) with Steve Lee at the throttle. Probably on YouTube also I would guess.

There are now (as of 1 hour ago) two HD quality video clips of WP165 on the move and shoving EMD/GM powered rolling stock, with Steve Lee at the throttle, that can be viewed for free on "that Tube website" = one; a "Cab Ride" with Steve Lee at the throttle, is at the Feather River Rail Society's channel and can be found by merely typing in the search field box on YT - "WP 165 April 23, 2022". The other one; posted there by Mike Haire who was trackside in a couple of locations at the WPRM property, can be found by typing in the search field box - "WP165 060 Steam Engine".

Its supposed to be fired up and operating this sunday after the wphs convention.

We visited Portola several years ago.  A sign said something like "You are allowed to climb on, over, and in any equipment that does not have a sign forbidding that."  Is that still the policy?
