Steam & Excursion > Great Western Steam Up - Updated ScheduleDate: 06/14/22 19:55 Great Western Steam Up - Updated Schedule Author: inyo22 Visting locomotives will soon be arriving at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City for the Great Western Steam Up to be held July 1-4, 2022. The event will feature four operating 1875 steam locomotives as well as an historic reunion of Virginia & Truckee steam locomotives. There is a an updated event schedule posted at: www.greatwesternsteamup.com. The locomotives pulling the narrow and standard gauge trains will switch out at midday each day, which offers an opportunity to photograph or ride behind five different train consists each day. In addition, each of the nine operating steam locomotives will participate in a "pageant" of steam locomotion at the museum turntable each day and conduct demonstration run bys throughout the day. The event also features live music, food, metal working displays, an operating steam fire pumper, an operating steam donkey engine, a steam launch, antique gas engines, a children's activity area, craft vendors and more. Tickets are limited to only 2,000 per day and are selling fast, so purchase your tickets soon if you are planning to attend. All proceeds will benefit the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City.
