Steam & Excursion > My first visit to the D&SNGDate: 07/30/22 01:03 My first visit to the D&SNG Author: Rattie After years of visiting the C&TSR, I finally made it to Durango to see and ride the D&SNG. After an aborted earlier attempt, I'll post that later, then the railroad shutting down due to fire risk, this was my first successful clip. Perhaps not the most exciting location, but after almost two years of not being able to visit any location, I'll take it.

Since you had been familiar with Chama and rides on C&TS, I expected you to express your feeling about the ride up in the canyon beyond the high line and north of Tefft ( where there is a boiler of SN engine set up for Otto Mears saw mill), and what it wa like in the deep canyon? Was the wilderness canyon a nice experience to enjoy and then come back to civilization at Silverton?
