Steam & Excursion > Labor Day Weekend SP 2472 Excursion

Does anyone know if the SP2472 will go across the Napa River to the wye an Napa Junction, or will it stop short of the Napa river and then back up to Schellville?

IIRC there is no wye at Schelleville.  If true then wyeing at Napa Jct. has little value.
BTW the 2472 is an extremely sharp looking representative of the SP in the late steam era.

The wye at Schellville is north of Highway 12 and east of the depot.  Using it involves passing through the fenced area where the current NWP corrals its power: https://goo.gl/maps/hpTXsLmm9chqV5ot6

According to the GGRM facebook group, they will stop short of the bridge at the Napa River and reverse back to Schellville. It's an out and back. 

Based on how SP 2472 and GGRM passenger equipment was received on the NWP (now SMART freight) from NCRY in 2019, preliminary plan will be to shove the Labor Day weekend short excursion passenger train 7.5 miles east from Schellville Wye backwards with private SP business car Oakland protecting the shove to Brazos / Milton Road and stopping short of Napa River. The SP 2472 will then run head end west back to Schellville where paying passengers would deboard.

Train will not run west (compass south) of Schellville Yard so all steam excursion mileage will be on the former SP east-west ROW built between Napa Junction and Santa Rosa by way of Schellville, not on the original NWP ROW which ran North-South between Ignacio to Sonoma/Kenwood via Black Point/Sears Point/Wingo.
