On this cold November 15 evening in Fremont, Nebraska, the hospital train managed to arrive around 22:00. My hands were frozen shooting some video of this train. A friend & I also chased it to Mercer (between Fremont & Valley) & to Valley Word has it they didn’t arrive In Council Bluffs until after 03:00.

Thanks for the footage.  As neat as it would have been to see it, I'm glad I didn't make the trek.

Did they make it to their scheduled detination on the 15th. of Council Bluffs ???  Thanks, Ross Rowland

Ross,

Form what I understand, they got to Council Bluffs as 02:00 CST this morning.  They went though Valley, NE at 23:14 CST.

I'll bet the UP crews just loved catching that train.

Wonder if they try to persuade IAIS to take the train to Silvis, they go right by there.

Well the good news is that today (11/16) was a day off on the schedule so that will allow them to get some shut eye. If it hasn't been changed the schedule calls for them to leave council Bluffs at 0800 tomorrow ( 11/17) and arrive Boone,iowa at 1730 that night. With the way the've been running so far they'll almost surely run late. Friday ( 11/18 ) the schedule calls for them to leave Boone at 0800 and arrive So. Amana Iowa at 1930. There again probably get there good and late??

   The big day is Sat. ( 11/19 ) when the schedule calls for them to leave So. Amana at 0800 and arrve at Silvis with much fanfare at 1400 hrs. 

    Here's wishing them trouble free running the rest of the way.  I guess the 5511 has been the problem child running hot main bearings requiring frequent stops to attend to ???

Thanks for sharing these videos and your extra effort filming the train . I heard about the cold , windy weather in NE. I liked the pacing footage of 3885 and 5511.

Well they have been running late every day & that to my knowledge is out of their control.

Once on the Iowa Interstate, I think (IMO) they will likely have an easier time getting to Silvis as I was told that IAIS has lower traffic volumes (not sure to how legit that claim is of the traffic).

From what I understand (and hearing on the radio), 5511 has been having bearing issues.

Iowa Interstate will take the train from Des Moines, Iowa to Silvis, Illinois.
