A Good Day on the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad
Author: RailRyder

Today was a beautiful fall day in the Smoky Mountains and GSMR 1702 was running so I couldn't resist getting a few pictures! The first and second shots are in the Thomas Valley near Wilmot, and the last shot is just outside of Dillsboro, all in North Carolina.

Thanks for sharing these first-rate photos. Images of the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad are not seen that often.

Very nice. There's a YouTube of a speeder trip on the line, pretty much full length and parts of the track looks
excellent and parts look like "Backwoods Railroads of the West".

I much prefer this look compared to the large white lettering and striping #1702 was wearing in 2018.  Of course the unaltered Golden Glow headlight in '18 looked more prototypical that the twin sealed-beam seen here.  Whucha gonna do?

Nice images!
