Steam & Excursion > Reading & Northern 425 - Christmas Finale

This past weekend the Reading & Northern's venrable Pacific #425 led Santa Claus trips on the Reading & Northern from Tamaqua, PA.  Most of the trips went railroad north on the heavy grade to Haucks and eventually the Hometown High Bridge.  This led to fantastic stack talk and angles not usually available during the Autumn Color trips.  The 3:30 departure put several popular spots on the grade in or just past the "golden hour".  Here are three selections from the 3:30 trips as 425 puts on a great show as always.  With a 1472 inspection looming at the end of the year, this may be the last time we see the 425 on this stetch of railroad for a while.  Enjoy!

Outstanding!  I would be in heaven on that road. LOUD! engines, hill and dale railroad.  Wish I could take my beloved 1522 there and play.
Wonder how much trouble I would get in if I moved 425's headlight down to an inch below center, Frisco style.
