Since Frisco1522 is about to leave Trainorders I wanted to post these five images that I got during the 1994 NRHS Convention held that year in Atlanta. I have a lot of video of these runs and hope to share soon however it won't be before Frisco1522 leaves.  First image on the former CofG at Hapeville, Hampton and Milner Ga. all on June 23,1994. I'll follow with two more.

At South Collier Ga. on June 23rd. I remember with this image several of us fans had gathered at this spot when a local drove up to us and gave us a good cussing as we were creating a traffic jam that he didn't appreciate. Last image was the 26th as it along with the N&W 611, Southern GP59 4610 and Operation Lifesaver GP60 7140 arrived at Rome Ga. Thanks for taking a look back to the 1522 at the 1994 convention.

I'm surprised srman and I didn't trip over one another.  I have several shots from that trip that look nearly identical to his.  Here's one I got at Griffin GA as the sun came out briefly.

Where is the 1522 located today? I'm trying to remember if I witness your last run?

It is back in the museum of transportation in the St Louis area.

Last run was Sept 29,2002.   Newburg, MO and return.   2 trips, Saturday and Sunday.
Under cover at the Museum of Transportation in Kirkwood, MO

Thanks, Don,, gotta go look at my records.  In my old age the memory is terrible.  BTW I am so glad you are still on the board, and have really enjoyed the many steam photos that you have recently posted.

I was on an earlier part of that trip.  I rode from St. Louis to Springfield.  At Springfield, I joined my friends who had been chasing for the trip to Memphis.  After spending the day in Memphis, I flew back to Arizona. I thought about going further, but was almost out of vacation time, so Memphis had to be the end of the trip for me.

You were on a good portion of the trip over the line to Springfield.  The Thayer div was a good place to chase.  I ran from West Plains to Jonesboro on that leg.  Little hill and dale and some spirited running on the flatland.
