Steam & Excursion > Bill Gwinn Photos - AC&YDate: 01/18/23 14:00 Bill Gwinn Photos - AC&Y Author: refarkas William (Bill) Gwinn was unique in some ways. In the 1970's, he told me he had always used box cameras because they were simple to use, and he had kept the day and location of each of his photos. Considering he started taking railroad, streetcar, and interurban photos in 1918, that is amazing. He had been a motorman for the Wheeling, West Virginia streetcar system.
As you look at these, please remember these were taken with Bill's love not a present day, super sharp camera. 1.) This is a view of the Akron Canton and Youngstown Mogadore Yard in Akron, Ohio at 3:45 P.M. on October 12, 1948. Visible are AC&Y 404 and 406. This was taken from Blue Ridge Bus which had stopped at a crossing on its way from Stubenville, Ohio to Akron, Ohio. 2.) AC&Y 40 is near the North Main Street crossing in Akron, Ohio at 11:45 A.M. on October 13, 1948. Bob Date: 01/18/23 16:23 Re: Bill Gwinn Photos - AC&Y Author: boejoe Neat. Is that a Kaiser-Frazer auto to the left in photo #2?

It is a Kaiser, or a Frazer, pre-1951. I'd guess you would call it first-generation. Matthew Date: 01/19/23 01:19 Re: Bill Gwinn Photos - AC&Y Author: ClubCar Nice photos and story, Bob. Thanks for sharing both.
