The movie was supposed to be during the Great Depression. It showed a steam engine arriving into NOLA pulling the Southern Crescent. If it wasn't the 4501, it must have been one similar to it.

Might try googling it! 4501 was painted black and lettered Baltimore and Ohio for the movie "Fools Parade" with Jimmy Stewart. I think the shooting was done around Moundsville, WV. It came back to the southern in October after filming via the B&O to Cincinnati. Saw it the next day Cincinnati-Williamstown, KY. Looked great in black and pulling only 4 coaches. Only chased to Williamstown since a friend and I had tickets for the first game of the 1970 World Series with Baltimore at Cincinnati! 4501 is painted black once again, and resides today at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum. I believe its operational. Greg Scholl Here is a preview of a video we shot with 4501 in 2017 on one of the trips to Sommerville, GA from Chattanooga. https://www.gregschollvideo.com/steam-dvds.html#268 Date: 02/04/23 16:32 Re: Southern 4501 - 06/16/1973 Author: ProAmtrak That's a cool shot!
