UP steam excursion print
Author: AndyBrown

A friend of the family whose brother recently passed away gave me this print from his household effects.  I've not seen one like it (which doesn't mean much) so am wondering if this was some kind of special issue, or just a normal print they sold in the baggage car?  It's very nice, and I'm curious if there's any kind of story behind it.

Thanks for any disucssion,

Andy

What is the size?  Probably a collectors item signatures of some of the past.  Ask those who know.

OK, just what is "OGEMP"?????

That is an older photo/print sold in the souvenir car, as Bob Lockman was eventually promoted to a Foreman at the Cheyenne Diesel Pit, and then promoted again to a District Mechanical Supervisor.

They also put out "signature print" with 3985 somewhere near Sherman Hill.  Harold Mathews, a longtime steam crew volunteer, was the photographer.

Nope. Back then, Bob was an Electrician on the Steam Crew.

OK, to clear up just what that stood for:

"Oil, Gas, and Electric Motive Power". It was an old Foreman's title resurrected for Bob, so that he couldn't be bumped off the Steam Crew.

I remember Steve Lee describing to the photographer about how to shoot the locomotive for this or another print.  He said "make sure you get those side rods up because it gives the foamers a hard on!"  I almost spit out my coffee right there at the table.

Now that's making sure the shot is shot right and everything else that goes with it!
