Ex-NYC cars on a Southern steam excursion

On a New Orleans-Hattiesburg roundtrip, the train is in Hattiesburg
Laurel Stream is a 6 dbl bedroom buffet lounge built by Budd in 1949.
The Lebanon Valley - a 10-6 sleeper built by Budd in 1948.
The Bonnie Brook - a 5 dbl bedroom buffet lounge observation built by Budd in 1949 for the New England States.

At the Southern station after the 4501 was turned along with a couple FP7 units are backing up to the consist.
Head of the Southern steam program Jim Bistline (on the right) talks to some fans.

Later on the way back to New Orleans there was a runby.
Another great trip behind 4501 but after this I read that it did not run again for a while.

Mr. Bistline was one of the good guys, a true southern gentleman.  Very interesting man to talk with.
I wish our 1522 Atlanta trip would have been under his regime.

Bonnie Brook's twin, Babbling Brook, is still making the rounds for owner Webb Rail. Anyone know if Bonnie Brook survives?
