Railfan4449, did you end up chasing the train yesterday? If so, how much luck did you have?

Add CN 6060, CP 2816, GT 6325 , CP 1293 (ain\'t given up on OC yet!), SOO 1003/2719, CP 2317/CN 3254 (Scranton). UP 844 and NKP 765 (a personal favorite) are not operational and undergoing long-term rebuild. C&O 2765 is not only not active but is doubtful to ever run again.

I expect these engines to run the highiron again at some point in my lifetime: SSW 614; BM&R 425; RDG 2102; C&O 614 and PRR 1361. Santa Fe 2926 is under initial restoration in Albuquerque. Bob

Yep chased it for the first time with Ohiosteamchaser now I\'m addicted to OC steam forever! As far as luck goies the first hour with all the rain sucked! But after that it was pretty great and OCS lead me to many, many, great locations!

I can see all kinds of arguments coming up after this, but you could add GCR 4960 to this list for 2 reasons:
1) She\'s a former mainline loco
2) GCR is a former branch of the ATSF

Plus... they don\'t poke along @ 15 MPH, but operate @ 40 MPH for about half of the 64 miles.

Go take a look at SteamCentral. Jim Wrinn has come up with a list of 149 operational steam locomotives in America. Not all are mainline, but that\'s a significant number.

Don\'t forget RDG 2100 is stored serviceable in St. Thomas, Ontario. I am hoping that sometime during my lifetime she\'ll join her sister No. 2102 at Port Clinton, PA and bring back doubleheaded Iron Horse Rambles or at least run out of Scranton on Steamtown excursions to Pocono Summit. I hear she can\'t run at all in Canada.

The boiler time ran out for 2472. From what I
understand, she is down until funds can be rounded
up for the work needed to recertify her.
