Awesome locomotive and deserves better. Back in 1996, we were in Topeka with 1522 for RR days and were saddened over it's appearance. I think there was some sort of master plan to restore it to burn a different fuel and run 100mph a while back. Haven't heard any more about that. Still, I suppose if they intend to move 3463, they may literally have to pick up steam.

Ran hot passenger trains between Chicago-La Junta, or Belen, or other western terminals. Must have been quite a sight seeing those drivers spinning fast @ 80-90 mph.
