Steam & Excursion > SP 4449 Location Unknown, anyone know this one?

SP 4449 without helpers
On Saturday, April 25, 1981, City of Portland owned, former Southern Pacific (SP) GS4 4449 went from Portland, OR, to Klamath Falls, OR, as part of its journey to Railfair 1981, the Grand Opening of the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, CA. This appears to be shot before the steam engine picked up helpers in Oakridge. I lost my notes from that trip. Exact location unknown. I am guessing this was taken somewhere along the shores of Lookout Point Lake, OR.

I am almost 100% sure that this is at Lookout Point just about a half a mile from the
bridge at the head of the lake....Headed SP west.

Yes, "somewhere along the shores of Lookout Point Lake, OR," likely around Crale.

Approaching Hampton, OR (about 3/4 mile north / SP RR east of it). It is along Lookout Reservoir. 

A 70 or 71 Ford Torino pacing the train there.

Black and white film is perfect for steam photography, and the overcast skies surely help.

I agree, Lookout Reservoir area, I was there when the train went by, my first view of 4449 !
