B&O Museum AFT 1 restoration
Author: GoldenState

Just saw this on Instgram. The Lady in the short video states that there will be webcams online for viewing the restoration and that it will be ready by July 4, 2026 for Americas 250th.
Will this be cosmetic or back to running condition?
She also states that there were three AFT locomotives, I'm not remembering a third, AFT 1, 4449, and?

The third would be T&P 2-10-4 610, which hauled the Freedom Train in Texas.

Okay, but you would complain too if you knew the history of the museum in that they were given the money, the stocks and bonds, tools, spare parts, etc. to be used to maintain certain passenger cars for years and years to come, and this money was used for other things including that some of the people in charge of the museum absconded with this money.  Sorry, but the present people in charge of the museum are doing a decent job considering the bag of worms that they inherited.  My hope is that things will get better and I look forward to the former Reading 2101 is completed properly as American Freedom Engine #1 in time for next year.

Its a shame they couldn't get something on the mainlines and moving for a 250th AFT similar to what we saw in 1976 across the country.
