Steam & Excursion > Who/Where/What/When is it for WednesdayDate: 02/19/25 06:21 Who/Where/What/When is it for Wednesday Author: swaool Date: 02/19/25 07:46 Re: Who/Where/What/When is it for Wednesday Author: ntharalson Thanks for posting, Mike. I'm guessing this is an excursion with Lou Keller's(I think that's right) ex-IC 2-8-0 in Cedar Rapids on the Milwaukee headed for Ottumwa. This is about 6th Avenue Southeast. The building is still there although the signage has been changed.

The image is a scan of a print from the Jeff Van Cleve collection, and Jeff told me it was taken 9/17/60 by Bill Kuba. The locomotive is extant at Steamtown, but apparently not operable at this time. mike woodruff north platte ne Date: 02/19/25 08:19 Re: Who/Where/What/When is it for Wednesday Author: MaryMcPherson This is what that class of locomotive looked like earlier in their career. #644 was photographed by Joseph Lavelle on June 25, 1925, at Memphis, Tennessee. This locomotive would become #793 in January, 1943. The locomotive now at Steamtown was originally numbered 641 and was renumbered at the same time. Both were built by Cooke in 1903.
