Steam & Excursion > Three for "SP Steam Sunday."Date: 06/29/25 11:53 Three for "SP Steam Sunday." Author: tehachcond Here's three from the Nolan Black collection of some oddball SP steam shots. Sorry I don't have more backstory information. Thanks for looking, and as always, comments welcome.
1. No info whatsoever as to location or date, but we see the third section of #2, the "Sunset Limited." Wonder what the fourth section looked like. 2. A photographer named Hardy caught this little ten-wheeler all dolled up for some special occaision at Oakland, California. Undated. 3. Shot at Bayshore, California by a photographer named Birney in May of 1937. Looks like this engine was involved in quite a smashup. I vaguely remember she was involved in a sideswipe, and there were casulties among the crew. Anyone else have some good information? The Western Railway Museum Archives database lists a photo of 2284 "decorated for Victory Bonds at the end of World War One." Probably explains all those V's among the decorations.
