As a follow up to my smoky 3985 post yesterday,  here's 8444 on a photo run.

Snyder, CO on 7/28/79.   Denver to Sterling trip

And THAT''S  a major reason the railroads

Oh for heaven's sake, get a clue! This is a photo run-by in 1979, more than 20 years after regular steam was gone from UP. Plus, they were still using bunker C in 8444 back then, and it was VERY easy to produce such excessive smoke, back then.
