Any news how the superheater repairs are going?

Three days ago SRI posted some photos on their Facebook page as well as the following post:

“A few years ago we bought some extra tubes from the fine folks at Friends of the SP&S 700 when they retubed their own steam locomotive. Over the last month we had them swaged, and today we cut them to length and laid them in their corresponding holes.

Progress!

Next up: repeating this same process for 202 3-1/2” flues…. We are always accepting volunteers!”

When it's done. They made the mistake in the past promising a future date.

Mdogg is technically correct but they are marketing the NPE trips in Nov/Dec to be operated with it.

These May be it's last excursions on GLC if they make it, unless the Watco takeover is delayed into the spring and they have time for one more all day trip.
