Two C&TS questions
Author: Ironman

How are things going at C&TS since the management changes?

Which steam locomotives are now in service?

Thanks in advance and have a nice weekend to come everyone!

Might want to clarify that you're talking about the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. Lots of acronyms in the railroad business; can confuse some folks if they're not familiar.

The world famous play is making a comeback?

Or are you referring to:
  • Charlotte Area Transit System
  • Capital Area Transit System
  • Chicago Area Transportation Study
  • Chico Area Transit System
  • Campus Area Transportation System
  • Canadian American Transportation Systems
  • Charlotte Area Transportation System
Oh, and if you by chance are referring to Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad, their abbreviation is actually C&TSRR or their official reporting mark of C&TS

The CATS thing was a marketing device some 50 years ago.

You forgot Chatham County (GA) transit (Savannah).....https://catchacat.org/

Counts because they had the riverfront trolley.

In answer to the original post, 484, 487 and 488 are now all in service, as well as the 168 for special moves.  The 114 is supposed to be getting another updated control system, but I don't know anything about that.  The drivers for he 463 are supposed to be back from Durango so work on the 463 as resumed.   489 drivers will not be done in Durango for several months, but I do expect that other work will be done on it so that wnen the drivers arrive, it should be not long.  I don't know anything about 315.   Work has started on the 492, and it will not be taken to Monte Vista but the work will be done in Chama.   492 has the newest boiler with the least amount of operating time on any of the NG 2-8-2's since it was reboilered in 1948, and retired in 1966.
