Date: 08/22/25 13:32 Re: 5771 to get new paint at CRRM Author: RRBMail I drove 5771 in the single stripe scheme so I am fond of it, but the four stripe scheme was the Rio Grande's signature.

Date: 08/23/25 09:33 Re: 5771 to get new paint at CRRM Author: czuleget Will the CRRM ever geat any car tbarns built? seems like a logical next step with the extream weather in Golden in the fall and winter months.
Date: 08/23/25 11:12 Re: 5771 to get new paint at CRRM Author: callum_out Unless they acquire the adjacent property there isn't much room for car barns. They'd have to do a lot of
grading plus repositioning to even make a spot for carbarns currently. Out Date: 08/23/25 13:03 Re: 5771 to get new paint at CRRM Author: dan they have acquired some more property, Colo climate isn't bad,car barns make it hard to photograph, Hopefully they could build a dual gauge loop! they have a narrow gauge loop now, so much better than out n back runs...
u/v is the worst part of being outside here in Colo, dry state and getting drier Al our goose driver, and one of his model A's 1928 i think, he reupholstered the goose, and his wife hep led him put in curtains on The UP 4801 diner, that was the backup on RGZ the last couple of years after a couple fires on the Banquet in pics above, they have dinners, wine and cheese things, and rentals in the 4801 Edited 1 time(s). The goal is more about preventing the adjacent lots from being purchased and developed than it is about expanding the footprint of the museum.

Years ago I worked for a company that owned a quarry and their policy was to acquire any property surrounding the quarry that came on the market. The buffer property certainly did cut down on complaints! Date: 08/24/25 09:55 Re: 5771 to get new paint at CRRM Author: wabash2800 It's a fantastic museum with quite a collection of equipment. I have been there twice. I highly recommend it.
Also, the model railroad in the museum is under-rated. It's is very well detailed and a good representation of Colorado railroad history. Often museum layouts are mediocre. I assume this one has been there for a while and updated.
