ex-NYC C430 restored on Adirondack Scenic RR
Author: RuleG

Per the following Facebook post, the Adirondack Scenic Railroad has restored its ex-New York Central Alco C430 2050 to its as-delivered appearance:

Now, I have a great reason to go up to Utica to see and ride the Adirondack Scenic Railroad!

Also significant in that the C430s 2050-2059 were the last new locomotives delivered to the NYC prior to the PC merger.  The 2050 didn't get to wear her NYC heralds very long; here's how she looked at Selkirk (NY) in November 1971, Paul Carpenito photo, my collection.

One of the recent Railroading Rambler videos has all three on a train (2 running, 1 to be set out for
a next day train), so they definitely were purchased for service. The two running sounded great and
minimal smoke.
