Steam & Excursion > RRHMA UP 6936 City of Bureau Junction TrainDate: 09/21/25 19:22 RRHMA UP 6936 City of Bureau Junction Train Author: kevink Once again, I pointed the faithful GMC west and headed to Rochelle, IL where I met my friend and we headed to the Quad Cities. Today's target was the RRHMA's excursion to Bureau Junction IL on the IAIS. Quite a few folks out chasing the train.
Scene1: Carbon Cliff at the east end of the IAIS yard. Scene 2: 6936 charges east past the old CRIP depot Scene 3: passing the grain elevator at Mineral, IL Thanks to a poor route choice by the navigator (alright, it was me), the train beat us to Bureau Junction. During the layover, we drove up to Priceton for lunch and headed back in time for the train's departure. Scene 4: Coming off the Chicago leg of the wye and heading home Scene 5: Making speed through Atkinson Pleased with our successful day, we headed for home after Atkinson. Enjoy the video! I was standing behind you at Atkinson. And I'm glad you got that Mineral shot... I couldn't time my chase correctly going either direction to nab Mineral. I thought the chasers and pacers were well-behaved despite the crowds. Good times. Thanks for the reports!
