Steam & Excursion > RRHMA's 6936 ExcursionDate: 09/22/25 18:50 RRHMA's 6936 Excursion Author: trainmandan By now, most are aware that the Railroading Heritage of Midwest America organization operated UP 6936, currently the only operating DDA40X "Centennial" (until the Illinois Railway Museum gets theirs done), on an excursion between Silvis, IL and South Amana, IA, plus a trip between Silvis and Bureau Junction, IL.
Here are the results of my chase from both days. Enjoy! 1) Crossing the Arsenal Bridge over the Mississippi River. 2) Exiting the Arsenal Bridge into downtown Davenport, IA. 3) Street running along 5th Street in Davenport. Thank you so much for looking! Here's to more excursions in the future, hopefully behind steam! Date: 09/22/25 19:18 Re: RRHMA's 6936 Excursion Author: AndyBrown Thanks for sharing your excellent photos! Best one I've seen yet of the Wilton arrival. All are great. I wondered how the Cedar River bridge shots would turn out looking directly into the sun. Going B&W worked well here.

I rode the trip to Bureau. From the "Dutch door" I enjoyed watching you enthusiastic railfans chase the train . Was impressed by the organized double photo lines at key spots on the route to and from Bureau. FUN trip and well managed by RRHMA . Delicious catered lunch. |
