My take on #765
Author: junctiontower

This is from photo runby #1 on Sunday. I have video too, if I can get it to format correctly.  The weather sucked, but I alway think weather adds a sense of realism to railroad pictures.

Steam in the countryside.  Always appreciate the effort to share these memories.

Perfect weather to ride! I'd gotten my ticket within the first 15 minutes they went on sale in July and for once picked the right days to chase / ride!

I saw that you were going to be on the train Sunday. What car were you in?

Appropriately enough, I was riding in a former elephant pen toward the front.

We were back in the cheap seats on #142, the Franklin Inn, but since the cold air and mist drove off all of the lightweights, I was able to spend almost the entire trip hanging out of the vestibules between cars #142 and #148. Of course I wasn't expecting to have them almost completely to myself, so I didn't dress heavy enough. By the time we got to Pleasant Lake, I was cold, wet and tired, and I wouldn't have traded for anything!

Mary, so many here enjoy your expert coverage of current operations as well as the sharing of historical images with great background information from your extensive collection. Not intending to play any of that down at all, its good to hear you had a nice day just riding and watching. Thanks again for all you contribute to this forum.
