Steam & Excursion > 4501 in Black & White, Part 1Date: 10/22/25 14:35 4501 in Black & White, Part 1 Author: MaryMcPherson I got a bit of an unusual preview this afternoon. I have my black and white negatives processed and then do my own scanning when they return. After this past weekend, I have seven rolls out there. Three from two weekends ago are finished and on their way back. Evidently one of the 4501 rolls was accidentally sectioned and scanned, so they gave me the link to download the scans. Maybe the rolls will be here Saturday, and I'll scan them again on my own equipment along with the other two rolls taken the same day.
These photos were shot on Tri-X 400 using a Pentax K-1000 and a 28mm lens. The first two were second shots after taking a photo with a 50mm lens on another camera. Those negatives are on the way back. 1. Southbound for Summerville, 4501 rounds a curve in the woods near Walnut Grove, Georgia. 2. The end of the southbound run is just a couple of miles away as the train rolls into Summerville, Georgia. 3. Rolling through a rural area north of Chickamauga, Georgia. We'll see what I got on the T-Max / Minolta combination in a few days. Mary McPherson Dongola, IL Diverging Clear Productions Date: 10/22/25 15:36 Re: 4501 in Black & White, Part 1 Author: Frisco1522 Your scans will be much better.

We had driven by there many times before, but stopped this time just because we hadn't before. Kurt was on the other side and down track from my location. On his video someone was in the gangway with a broom, seemingly paddling the air with it like rowing a boat. Someone has a sense of humor.
