Steam & Excursion > Durango & Silverton Photo Charter -- Day 1Date: 10/26/25 16:36 Durango & Silverton Photo Charter -- Day 1 Author: WP17 The Durango and Silverton scheduled one of their infrequent photo charters for Oct 24 and 25. Snce I had yet to ride, let alone photograph, that amazing heritage railroad, I signed up and joined close to 40 other rail photographers for the two day adventure. Day 1 started early with a 6:30am departure and a non-stop sprint to Horseshoe curve for our first shot in amazing perfect early morning sunlight. This was followed by 7 additional photo stops on our way to an overnight stay in Silverton.
