Steam & Excursion > Oct 25 Steamtown Excursion to the Delaware Water Gap QuestionsDate: 10/28/25 18:32 Oct 25 Steamtown Excursion to the Delaware Water Gap Questions Author: RuleG According to the following Steamtown National Park webpage, an excursion to the Delaware Water Gap was scheduled for Saturday, October 25:
https://www.nps.gov/stea/planyourvisit/trainrides.htm Perhaps it did not run due to sharply reduced staffing at National Parks. I was unable to verify through an Internet search if the excursion took place. 1) Does anyone know if this excursion ran? 2) If it did, what locomotives were used? 3) To anyone who rode this excursion, how was the trip? Thank you, in advance, for any information. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/28/25 18:39 by RuleG. Earlier this year there was supposed to be an excursion train going to the Garlic Festival in East Stroudsburg. I would wait for this train but no train happened as I later learned it was cancelled because of the shutdown.

There is nothing on Steamtown's website about the Fall excursion trains being cancelled due to the shutdown. Perhaps the staff tending to the website was furloughed. |
