NYC RR 2-10-2's ?

I just came across this, and had never realized that the New York Central, the "Water Level Route" had 2-10-2's.

There were 10 of them brought in by the USRA in 1919 from Alco-Brooks and they went to work on the Boston & Albany as the 1100 - 1109. Mountainous territory where their 69,575 lbs of tractive effort was put to productive work. But their 57 inch drivers meant low speeds, and when the B&A needed schedules sped up, they went west to the Big Four somewhere. They left the NYC Lines in 1929, sold to the Canadian National.

These photos of the 1109 credited to Bud Laws, and any others I have seen, have U.S. lettered on the tenders. Did they ever get NYC lettering ? 
Anyone know anything ore about them?

I remember scouting out the NYC in Central Pennsylvania west of Clearfield. Certainly not a Water Level Route as the track came out of tunnels and crossed over rivers on high bridges, like at Clarion, PA, and then the big Belmar Bridge near Franklin, again with associated tunnels (now a bike / hike trail).   https://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/page/?page_id=63071

NYC had a coal-hauling line that ran north and south in Eastern Ohio, coming down through Minerva and eventually ending up near Wheeling.  I think Central even had articulated steam assigned to that line, but could the 2-10-2s have been used on at least part of that route? 

What steam locomotives were assigned to the West Virginia line south and east of Columbus, Ohio?

Funny how the oddball power seemingly always eventually went to the Big Four. That includes diesels too. And the last steam ran on the Big Four. The NYC leased the Big Four. Was there a lower profit margin calculated in the lease payments? <G> Or did the NYC lease the power to the Big Four to offset the lease payments NYC paid to the Big Four?
