Steam & Excursion > Strasburg trains diesel todayDate: 11/23/25 18:12 Strasburg trains diesel today Author: LTCerny It was noticed on the Paradise railcam that the Strasburg RR trains were diesel-powered today. Any reason?

Remember, there are many people who come to the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area as plain ordinary tourists and they ride the Strasburg Trains for the scenic ride and do not care whether or not a steam engine is pulling the train. Generally, the first few days of the Thanksgiving week are very slow as people have other things on their minds. Just my thoughts.

The original post was made on Sunday, 11/23/2025, and indicated the occurance being discussed was "today" meaning on that Sunday. Date: 11/25/25 18:11 Re: Strasburg trains diesel today Author: LTCerny The Strasburg schedule shows trains at half-hour intervals from 10am to 5pm this coming Friday and Saturday (November 28 and 29), plus a 9am train on the 29th. This will require two trains meeting at Goff's Grove. Does anyone know if both will be steam?

In recent years the outbound train takes the yard siding just beyond the station, and the inbound train passes it as it approaches the station on the main. But that can also change based on freight.
89 and 90 should be up this weekend. |
