Steam & Excursion > PM 1225 Missing in Action today 11/29/2025

I was already to get dusted by cinders and have my ears cleaned out by the sounds of PM 1225, but that did not come to pass this morning in Shiawassee County, Michigan.  I spotted a few new locations and I have GPS information, which is presented in decimal notation.  Google does not know what to do with this style of lattitude and longitude, but Google Maps does.

1.  Consumers Power 1155 at 10:08 on the way out of Owosso.  I was standing at 42.9950566666667 -84.18616

2.  I caught the train near the intersection of Smith and Wilkinson Roads at 10:21.   43.0244466666667 -84.22589

3.  The train has left Elsie proper, and it is out in the country near Maple Valley and Wilkinson Roads at 10:44.  Check out that guy's winter wheat :-)  Location:  43.1031966666667 -84.3923033333333

4.  The train is about to cross Michigan 57 at 11:02 or 11:03 depending on whether one pays attention to the GPS time or the camera time.  The location is  42.9950566666667 -84.186165

Let's hope that PM 1225 is sorted by next Saturday.  I've got my timings down well enough that I think I can get some of these spots next week with video.  Fingers crossed.  We're expecting BIG SNOW today and tonight, so speeds on the back roads may be slow then.

Thought I read somewhere that one of the bearings in the running gear that they had rebuilt last year was running Hot !

Nothing was said about that.  Just an expression of disappointment that it wasn't running again.  Other than that, the trip was great and even got extended some, on account of a grain train working right before we were supposed to reboard.
