Meeting is held in Room 135 of the Radcliff Center, 1751 Radcliff St., Garden City, Michigan. Meeting starts at 1900, and ends at 2050 (have to be out of the building by 2100). All are most welcome! Looking for programs for 2026. Wob't you share your material? Date: 01/02/26 16:56 Re: Michigan Railroad Club Author: Jeff_Johnston Is this a military event, or are you using military time for a civilian event because it's "cool" or something?
Jeff Johnston Date: 01/02/26 18:23 Re: Michigan Railroad Club Author: jkh2cpu Some of us happen to use the 24 hour clock rather than the 12 hour with AM/PM.
Date: 01/03/26 05:30 Re: Michigan Railroad Club Author: borg I use the 24 hour clock so there is a clear understanding of the time and it is easier to type 1900 instead of 7 p.m. When I was in the service I could never figgure out military time which has to do with Greenwich mean time and the earths rotation and when you have to fire a shell so it hits the target because of the earths rotation. Railfans when they report things should use the 24-hour clock instead of "a while ago" when reporting train movement.
Date: 01/03/26 10:26 Re: Michigan Railroad Club Author: ts1457 I don't know what they use now, but years ago CN and CP used a twenty-four hour clock. Furthermore, CN's GTW subsidiary in the USA used it, too.
