Transfer Power
Author: MacBeau

Deep inside Chicago & Northwestern's Proviso Yard, B&O Q-1c 4315 has come calling on behalf of the B&OCT, to which this locomotive was assigned predicated on photographic evidence at northeast.railfan.net. One of 110 built by Baldwin in 1913, all lasted until after World War II according to steamlocomotive.com.
Photo credit Jack Delano and the Library of Congress for this December 1942 view.
Be of good cheer,

Amazing overhead view - Most likely this was taken from a light tower. What a different scene this is compared to ground level.

The first thing that I saw was the front end of that loco.  I thought to myself B&O, and maybe a big six.

This shot looks like it was taken on a really cold day.

All hand throw switches. Switch tender was a cold, cold job.
