Steam & Excursion > Steam Train Diary WebpageDate: 02/17/26 15:46 Steam Train Diary Webpage Author: LTCerny What is the situation with the Steam Train Diary webpage? They didn't list the Feb 14 2102 trip, and nothing is listed beyond this month.
Date: 02/20/26 09:07 Re: Steam Train Diary Webpage Author: JohnMcIvor I have been maintaining the Steam Train Diary for the last 21 years from here in the UK. It's been a pretty thankless task with almost no feedback and no update information coming from any railroad. Except for help from John Biehn each month in recent years, the data was compiled by time consuming searching the Internet, as could be done by anyone. You may have gathered that I am considering the Diary's future.
Any comments? Best wishes, John McIvor https://svsfilm.com England Date: 02/20/26 17:25 Re: Steam Train Diary Webpage Author: bigsavage Nobody has posted anything from the 2/14 2102 trip, which is stunning given the 2 incidents on the trip nor from the recent EBT Winter Spectacular.
Something to consider at renewal time... Date: 02/21/26 08:00 Re: Steam Train Diary Webpage Author: LTCerny Regarding John McIvor's reply, there is much appreciation for your work, and many have used Steam Train Diary as their main source of information on US steam excursions. So thank you for your efforts to date and I certainly hope you continue to maintain the page.

I've always appreciated having it, and I'm sorry that along with many others, I've never expressed that. If you do decide to discontinue it, thank you for having it up all of these years. It's still extremely helpful. If you do keep it up, I do intend to keep using it, particularly since I'm no longer on any of the social media platforms that most railfans and preservation organizations use Which means I'm more likely to miss things. I am very appreciative of your work and hope you will continue to maintain the site in the future by addressing special operations on regionals, short lines and museums. Thanks much for your efforts.
While I'm very thankful that #2102 on the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern does its best to deliver the mainline steam experience in the states I'm considering traveling overseas to find more. Are there any sites similar to Steam Train Diary that list mainline steam operations in the UK and Europe? Date: 03/02/26 08:25 Re: Steam Train Diary Webpage Author: masterphots bigsavage Wrote:
