Wow - very cool.  Was that some sort of fan trip/photo charter, or were they actually using the 38 (ex-H&BTM 2-8-0) on revenue freight?

The tracks no longer exists in Livonia, but the station does, although it has been greatly modifed and expanded - looks a bit homely now.

How often we forget some tourist lines would once in a while run freight trains powered by steam. What makes this special is that this is most likely not a photo excursion but an honest freight train.

Actually, it was a photo freight made up for myself and another photographer to do publicity pictures for the LA&L
