Steam & Excursion > Built & RebuiltDate: 02/24/26 06:20 Built & Rebuilt Author: MacBeau Juniata built K2 3373 in 1911, which according to the Pennsylvania Modeler was the same year it was rebuilt into a K2s. John S. Powell photographed it in Philadelphia, 1913.

Some essential things remain constant :-)

Bob Date: 02/24/26 12:38 Re: Built & Rebuilt Author: MacBeau That nothing agrees is more than a little disconcerting. The historic record says this locomotive was both built and rebuilt in the same year, yet the photo, dated two years after the fact, clearly shows it still as a K2, not a K2s.

steam pipes, smokebox to valves. Probably he was just referring to K2s's? Was he for sure right? (In later years, lots of superheated engines had inside steam pipes.) Date: 02/24/26 15:44 Re: Built & Rebuilt Author: MacBeau As more K4s and other classes surface, it is a safe bet he was correct.
