Steam & Excursion > Something AmissDate: 02/26/26 03:23 Something Amiss Author: MacBeau Either the date or the second engine number in the information attributed to this photograph is incorrect. The lead locomotive, K4s 227 came from Juniata in 1917 and still looks the part, complete with extended piston rods and gas headlight. According to the caption, this image was taken west of Altoona in April 1921, and that might have flown except the second locomotive, K4s 3872, would not be built for another two years. A delightful view of #25 The Metropolitan, despite the discrepancies.

The railroad itself might have had hiccups in the process.
