Steam & Excursion > Steamy Sunday: NKP 765 approaching Ithaca, MI

It 11:19 AM on October 15, 2011, and NKP 765 is puffing towards its destination:  Alma, Michigan.  

These are the same image.  I did the first last night, and the second one last November.  The difference is a change in digi editors.  I work in linux with Darktable and Gimp.  I've recently found that Darktable has excellent masking capabilities which accounts for the change in the looks of the images.  I can't do much about the break in the clouds as there are no pixels to work with:  It's blown out, as they say in the photo business, and there is no way that I can rescue the detail on the front of the image without loosing that wicked sky.  But, Hey!  I took the shot with my one of my trusty Nikon D200s.
