Early CB&Q

2867, a Class S-1, came from Baldwin, along with two dozen others in 1909, shown in Omaha the following year. Most of the class were rebuilt in the 1920's with pistons and valve gear moved outside along with the addition of superheaters and feedwater heaters.

Wow, what a gem, Mac! So much to see in this photo — love the horse drawn delivery wagon and the Q depot — home of a TV station now. Thanks for sharing!

If there were more details, you'd need a second image! Although the horse-drawn wagon has been mentioned. a streetcar is barely visible on the far right!

And, to me that engine does not look like Burlington,  but everything changes.

The marker? light hanging off of the headlight is interesting. Never seen that before.

The CB&Q was not the only railroad that served Omaha via the "Burlington Station", the Rock Island and I believe the Chicago Great Western also used it too.
