4014 ran solo again

4014 ran solo (no diesel in the consist) again on 4/21 from Evanston to Green River, where a diesel was added behind the auxilary water tenders for the rest of the run to Rock Springs.

I noticed that as well while getting a shot of the train yesterday east of Evanston.  What was interesting is that there WAS a diesel - a run of the mill unit, nothing special - cut in behind the water cars when the train was parked in Evanston the day before.  Why it was taken off before the train left yesterday is anybody's guess but I certainly appreciated it!

Has anybody heard of even the tiniest mechanical problem with 4014 on this trip?

Apparently the UP motor in Evanston had a bad traction motor

That's why they shouldn't be allowed out on the main resort a steam backup.
