I just found this on YT and it was filmed in a Santa Fe rail yard I am guessing in Los Angeles some place.
I have never seen this clip in the past I am not that old when this show was on the air to remember it. 

SF #1373 was the star and Several other in the round house

It is a refurbished short film.from 1929

Interesting find.

The roundhouse looks like Redondo Junction, and some scenes are between there and north towards 4th or 1st Streets or thereabouts.

Not sure about other scenes like the industrial areas (Harbor District along Slauson?), and where they meet up with the trolley car alongside what looks to be a 1927-ish Dodge.
(F Line LATL Trolley at Slauson & Vermont?)

Maybe Evan will see this and have some insights.

The 1929 date of this film is just about the time the first film "talkies" were made. However, according to YT comments the sound was made using phonograph recordings. Further the records had supposedly been lost until found in MGM vault in 1982 and then mated with the video.  Also note that the AT&SF logo on the engine cab appears partially obscured. I'm not sure the topic would have been approved by Chicago headquarters.
