I haven't seem the usual guys from the 2926 group post anything up, so I figured I would relay the news from their facebook page for all here:

I took the survey anyway.  If there is a way to operate, I would definitely make the trip from Illinois to ride.  While some purists might go ballistic (I know a few who actually would) over this, I would ride even if the trip is done in partnership with New Mexico Rail Runner    

and I'll second that, i'm in Maryland.

Santa Fe is extraordinary, make a great destination, track is solid and state controlled.   Historic downtown is walkable from the depot, I've done it, would go back.

That's a bucket list trip behind big steam, no doubt, you can always dream.

Because of the C&TS, New Mexico is familiar with the tourism impacts using rail as a destination instead of a sideshow.   No other reason in the world to go to Chama.
