Here's a question. In many of these photos I see a lot of steam escaping at various locations from the 734. The one showing the photo line shows a lot of steam escaping from under the tender. What's going on here?

Two different things. The steam from under the tender is the stoker and 734 had a problem with the fireman's side value gear that wasn't able to be repaired during the weekend.

We will occasionally ask the crew to hand fire 734 for a runby or two but it can be a LOT of shoveling and if you saw Mitch's photo of the tender, we really ate it up on Sunday's trip..
