Rio Grande's Railblazer and Fall Sky Color.
Author: rcfarewell

All,

Rio Grande ran an ultra-hotshot TOFC train called the "Railblazer" for a number of years. During the fall of the year the eastbound run would drop down off the Front Range and into Denver close to dawn. So here's my interpretation of Fall Color for the 'Blazer, shot outside of Denver at milepost 12.6, just west of Leyden siding.

Way to go with The Action Road - delivering the trailers bright and early. Nice autumn rendition.

See ya next Thursday!

Rio Grande's legendary hotshot! Beautiful image at a familiar spot, but not a familiar angle at that time of day or year. Nicely done!

Was the service successful / in demand?  If so, why not offer it again, espeically in winter time?  Business and populations keep growing, and so do their daily needs...

UP moved it to via laramie   , it can carry doublestacks some of which  are too tall for the Moffat route, and it has traffic from long beech and LA

the last days of the Prospector carried TOFC, which may have dropped cars off at G Jct too
