DRGW 5349 Saves the Day!

Denver & Rio Grande Western tunnel motor 5349 was assigned to Helper, UT, for trash train service. It was called upon to run light west to Detour, west of Gillully, where it was added to coal EMPTY (104-cars) C MHSM 14 (Somerset Mine, CO, bound). Trouble with EMD built SD90MAC/43 UP 8113 and 8240. The tunnel motor saved the day! DRGW 5349 was pulling under the signal bridge west of Helper where it was cut off. Evidently, only one 8000 was needed for the train to complete its trip to Grand Junction, CO.
