Horny DD
Author: MacBeau

The 6924 had multiple air horns for a time, but I never caught it on the point. (I didn’t even get it on the sun side this day.) This was a taken in the morning at MPX59 just east of Tunnel 2.

Does anyone have a recording of those air raid sirens?

These sirens started out on a couple of SDP35s about 1978, then were moved to the 6918 and 6924 in '79. They were removed from both when before returning to service in '84.
Sometime in the mid '70s a UP section gang of 4 men was struck and killed by a train at Don, ID next to the JR Simplot and FMC plants. I think this was one of the attempts to prevent that happening again. Can't remember the exact dates but I do remember watching a video of a recreation in switchman class in April 79 in Pocatello.
