In Aug '92, three exSP SD39's and a couple of GP's lead a loaded copper ore train south out of Ray Jct near Kelvin, AZ.

This RR is very much alive and doing well with alot of daylight operations and, with a short stop at the office on the north side of Hayden, railfan freindly. At the time of this photo, ore trains were operating about every four hours between the Ray mine and the smelter at Hayden.

True, but the 39s are now gone.

Please check in with the office, patiently wait at the counter for the DS to get done with any work she was doing and then request a release before setting up for photos. I usually have a "job briefing" with the DS; letting her know exact mileposts and time period I will be taking photos. This is all part of keeping the CBRY "railfan-friendly."

The area depicted is somewhat hazardous and requires a hike in. This area is a major rattlesnake hang out. Loose rock, jumping cholla cactus, poor cell phone coverage and hot temperatures in summer round out the hazards. Bob
