Nostalgia & History > Time for a BN breakDate: 03/30/06 19:49 Time for a BN break Author: alco636 Here is some classic BN power.
#1 BN 5324 a GE U30C. A BN only lashup. U30C and two F45s. #2 BN 6608 a former GN F45. #3 Note the black frame on the 6608 as compared to the factory painted 6633 behind her. One small difference in a sea of green paint in the 1970s. I sure miss those old F45s. Always liked seeing them. Date: 03/30/06 19:54 Re: Time for a BN break Author: NH2006 Where?
Date: 03/30/06 20:11 Re: Time for a BN break Author: alco636 Sorry 'bout that. Breckenridge, MN 10.22.72.

Thanks for the BN shots - Green is easier on the eyes than Pumpkin Orange! Date: 03/30/06 21:11 Re: Time for a BN break Author: steampower Nice shots!
Here's a lash-up of four on train 129(eastbound grain empties) thru Grotto Washington west of Skykomish on Stevens pass, winter 1979 or so. They sure looked better than any of the newer GE Dash whatevers with the wide cabs, etc Steampower Date: 03/30/06 21:45 Re: Time for a BN break Author: drew1946 "ICE" will not work with Kodachrome.
Date: 03/30/06 22:17 Re: Time for a BN break Author: alco636 I did turn on the ICE feature. Hows this look? I'll rescan the F45 & U30C slides to see how different they end up with ICE on.
Date: 03/30/06 22:43 Re: Time for a BN break Author: alco636 Here are the original three with ICE on. Thanks so much for the help! Looks much better. Now if I could go back in time too...

I liked the F45s too and espically the GN ones with the headlights mounted above the windshield and between the numberboards.

Tony J has a wayback machine but he never advertises his excursions, just comes back and posts incredible photos. I'm glad to have even seen any BN Green! Thanks for all the "Hill" shots! |
